Pedal Cycles & Pedestrians Only
Where: At the beginning of a road, lane, or section of a road designated specifically for pedestrians and/or cyclists. Often found on shared paths, parks, or divided roadways where traffic is separated for safety.
Purpose: To indicate that a road or part of a road may be used exclusively by cyclists and/or pedestrians, and to show them which part of the road they must use. On divided roads, specific sections are reserved for either pedestrians or cyclists, ensuring safe coexistence — the sign may indicate a shared area or a separate area for each, as shown by the respective bicycle or pedestrian symbol.
Action Required by Driver: Do not drive any motor vehicle on the road or section marked by this sign. Cyclists and pedestrians may use only the part of the road indicated by the sign.
- Cyclists — must use the section marked with the bicycle symbol.
- Pedestrians — must use the section marked with the pedestrian symbol.
- Stay alert — the area may have other cyclists, pedestrians, or obstacles, so follow the designated path to ensure safety and compliance with traffic rules.
